Vigil ran for District 3 of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission in 2012. She faced Danny Maki, Valerie Espinoza and Brad Gallegos in the Democratic primary on June 5, 2012, coming in second. No candidates filed to run in the Republican race.[1]
