I was born and raised in Bay Ridge, worked as an NYPD Officer for 32 years, and am a 9/11 First Responder. As an NYPD Lieutenant, I addressed quality-of-life violations and enforced policies that made NYC's streets and subways safe. I have a long record of public service in the community, which began in high school when I spent my summer working with children with disabilities. I'm also an actor and have worked in Off-Off Broadway theaters throughout the city, including the Gallery Players in Park Slope. I used my police and acting skills to develop programs to address sexual harassment and diversity in the workplace. I've fought for LGBTQIA+ rights, including advocating for the right for all couples to marry whomever they please. I co-founded PLACE NYC and was a twice-elected parent representative on the District 20 Community Education Council. My wife Kim and I have raised all three of our children next door from the house where I grew up. They all attended public school in Dyker Heights and Fort Greene, both within the confines of District 26.
  • Public Safety & Quality of Life Enforcement: To bring back NYC we need to amend the failed Bail, Raise the Age, and Discovery laws.
  • Migrant & Sanctuary City Policies: We need to roll back Sanctuary City policies. Ensure the health & education needs of migrant children are met. Allow the police to cooperate with ICE for violent offenders.
  • Zoning & Property Tax Reform: I oppose increasing the density and allowing out-of-character buildings in our unique neighborhoods, such as Park Slope, Dyker Heights, Bay Ridge, and other neighborhoods. We need a uniform, fair propterty tax structure.
The fight for a high-quality, appropriate education for all children.
I have always been able to talk to people from all across the political spectrum with empathy and understanding.
All elected officials need to take their fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers more seriously, including ensuring that the money spent serves its intended purposes.
During high school, I delivered newspapers door to door from the ages of 13 to 18.

I was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and have served my community as a law enforcement officer and education advocate, retiring as a lieutenant from the NYPD after 32 years of service.

My wife Kim and I are proud parents of two sons, Evan & Dylan, and a daughter, Morgan. I have advocated for accelerated education and for improved transparency and accountability in the city's public school system.

As a co-founder of Parent Leaders for Accelerated Curriculum and Education (PLACE NYC), I firmly believe that all students deserve access and opportunities to an education that enables them to reach their full potential. I am a strong advocate for parent choice, charter schools, and have been elected twice to the local Community Education Council.

All three of my children attended the Christa McAuliffe Middle School within the confines of the 43rd District. Since my oldest started kindergarten in 2008, my wife Kim and I have been actively involved with the diverse families within this district.

I am the only candidate, from either party, who possesses the valuable experience and institutional knowledge in both policing AND education. I can confidently assert that I am the best candidate for City Council in the 43rd District.
  • Public Safety & Quality of Life Enforcement
  • Reducing Business Regulation & Tax Burdens
  • Parental Choice as well as Transparency & Accountability in the NYC Public Schools
I want to focus on Law & Order, Parental Rights, Education Integrity, Tax Reform, Helping Small Business and Improving the Quality of Life in New York City.

I will advocate to allow judges to consider dangerousness when deciding whether to hold somebody in pretrial detention as well as push to fund drug treatment and mental health resources and enforce Kendra’s Law. I will use my voice to encourage the Kings County DA to follow and enforce the law prioritizing the needs of the victims. As a former police officer, I understand the need to give the NYPD and law enforcement the backing they need to do their job. We can’t let our city slip back to the way things were in the 1970s. We need safe streets and safe subways.

I will work to maintain education standards that are currently under attack throughout our city and state. I will work to defend the SHSAT testing for specialized high schools, expand Gifted and Talented programs & charter schools while fighting to ensure that special needs kids get the education and services they need. I will advocate to replace critical race theory in schools that segregate our children with a pro-human agenda that teaches children about our multi-ethnic and diverse city.

Born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Vito LaBella has served the community as a law enforcement officer and education advocate, retiring from the NYPD after 32 years in the force.

As a former lieutenant and proud dad of two sons and a daughter and multigenerational head of household that includes his wife and mother, Vito advocates for accelerated education and improved transparency in the city’s public school system and BOE.

As cofounder of Parent Leaders for Accelerated Curriculum and Education (PLACE NYC), Vito believes all students, regardless of race, learner level or socioeconomic status, deserve access and opportunity to education to achieve their full potential. In addition, Vito was twice elected to the local Community Education Council and is an active 911 Memorial Museum volunteer.
As State Senator, I want to focus on Law & Order, Education Integrity, Tax Reform, Helping Small Business and Improving New York's Future.

I will work to end cashless bail, reverse the Less Is More Act, push to fund drug treatment and mental health resources and enforce Kendra’s Law. I will also make our voices heard in Albany by pushing our Governor to audit and subsequently fire any district attorneys who refuse to follow and enforce the law. And most importantly, as a former police officer, I understand the need to give the NYPD and law enforcement the backing they need to do their job. We can’t let our city slip back to the way things were in the 1970s. We need safe streets and safe subways.

I will work to maintain education standards that are currently under attack throughout our city and state. I will advocate to replace critical race theory in schools that segregate our children with a pro-human agenda that teaches children about our multi-ethnic and diverse city.

As a legislator, I commit to action, not just words, to push our legislature to do a top-down review of our crushing Real Estate tax system in NYC. I'll work to make our city business friendly to keep mandates and onerous business regulations and taxes from stifling small business.
