Hill obtained a B.A. in English and history from the University of Texas, Austin, an M.A. in history from Rice University, an M.S. in library science from Atlanta University, an M.Div. from Southern Methodist University, and a J.D. from the University of Texas, Austin. Her professional experience includes working as an attorney and owning her own private practice. Hill is also a former member of the Dallas City Council in Texas, representing District 3 from 2007 to 2015.
