W.M. Sanders is a judge for the 7th Chancery District (Seat 3) in Mississippi.[1] She was elected in 2010 to a term that expired in 2014.[2] She was re-elected after running unopposed on November 4, 2014, for a term that begins in 2015 and will expire in 2018.[3][4]

2010

Sanders defeated Jimmy L. Miller in the general election for the 7th Chancery District, winning 63% of the vote.[2][5]

Education

Sanders earned an undergraduate degree from Alcorn State University, going on to receive her law degree from the University of Mississippi.[6]

Career

Prior to her election in 2010, Sanders was a municipal judge in Greenwood, where she also had a private law practice. She gained additional experience as a judge for the LeFlore County Court and as a managing attorney for North Mississippi Rural Legal Services.[6]
