W. Andrew Voigt is a judge for the Columbia County Circuit Court in Wisconsin.[1] He was first elected to the position in 2011.[2]

Voigt won re-election without opposition in the general election on April 4, 2017.

Education

Voigt earned his B.A. from Ripon College in 1997, majoring in politics and government with minors in law and society and communications. He later earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2000.[3]

Career

While attending law school, Voigt served as clerk for the three Columbia County judges.[4]

Wisconsin held local judicial elections in 2017. Forty-eight circuit court seats were up for election on April 4, 2017. Three seats required primaries on February 21, 2017, with the top two vote recipients for each seat advancing to the April 4 general election. Thirty-seven seats up for election in 2017 were unopposed.[5] Incumbent W. Andrew Voigt ran unopposed in the general election for the Branch 2 seat on the Columbia County Circuit Court.

Voigt ran for a seat on the Columbia County Circuit Court. He won the greatest number of votes in the primary election, receiving 39.1%.[6] He defeated Tim Henney in the general election, winning 52% of the vote.[7][4]
