White's Facebook page said about his campaign that, "Together we'll lessen the burden and bureaucracy for small businesses and taxpayers alike, we'll promote job growth and greater prosperity for all."[2]

2012

In an email submission to Ballotpedia, White described his political philosophy as follows:[1]

"My plan is to turn two of North Carolina’s poorest counties into something much better, into a region brimming with jobs and opportunity. I believe growth and opportunity for all is the answer to poverty, that the best anti-poverty programs are the ones that create jobs. I support a stronger economy, I support smarter kids, and I support lower taxes."

Elections for the North Carolina State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 6, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 28, 2014. Jane W. Smith defeated David Ayers, Beverly Collins Hall and Marcus W. Williams in the Democratic primary, while W. Bernard White, Jr. was unopposed in the Republican primary. Smith defeated White in the general election.[3][4]
