W. Douglas Parsons
W. Douglas Parsons was a superior court judge for the Second Division of the Superior Court, 4A Judicial District, serving Duplin, Jones, and Sampson counties in North Carolina. He was appointed by Gov. Bev Perdue (D) in March 2012 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Russell J. Lanier, Jr.[1] Parsons passed away on September 24, 2017.[2]
Biography
Parsons earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. His professional experience included work as an assistant district attorney and assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina and as an attorney in private practice.[3]
Elections
2012
Parsons was elected unopposed to the Superior Court of District 4A on November 6, 2012.[4][5]
