W. Gregg McCaulie is a former judge of the Fourth Circuit Court in Florida. He served on the court from 1996 to 2020.[1][2]

McCaulie was first appointed to the court by Governor Lawton Chiles in 1996. He was re-elected without opposition in 2014 and retired on January 31, 2020.[3][4][2]

McCaulie received his law degree from the University of Florida in 1974.[1]

Career

McCaulie began his career in 1974, working in the Public Defender’s Office. He became a private practice lawyer with Allen, Margol, Fryefield & McCaulie three and a half years later. After four years in that partnership, he began working with Carleton Maddox and Jeff Peterson. He later worked as a sole practitioner until 1992, when he joined the firm of Hand, Drew, Mercier, & Showalter. Though he ran unsuccessfully for the position of county court judge in 1994, McCaulie was appointed to the circuit court two years later, in 1996.[1]
