W. Robert Bell was a judge for Judicial District 26B of the North Carolina 5th Superior Court Division. He assumed office on January 1, 2019. He left office on November 24, 2021.

Bell was initially a resident superior court judge for the 26C Judicial District of the Seventh Division of the Superior Court. He joined that court in 1997.[1] [2] In 2018, the North Carolina General Assembly passed House Bill 717, revising the state superior court, district court, and prosecutorial districts. Bell's seat on the Seventh Division was absorbed into the Fifth Division.

The North Carolina Superior Courts are split into five divisions and 48 districts. Superior court judges rotate among the districts within their division every six months.[3] However, superior court judges are elected by voters in their district and must reside in the district in which they are elected.[4]
