Hesse ran in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 52. Hesse was defeated by Shanti Gandhi in the Republican primary on August 7, 2012. Ted Ensley ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
