Wade Brorby is a federal judge on senior status with the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. He joined the court in 1988 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan.

Early life and education

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Brorby graduated with his B.S. from the University of Wyoming in 1956 and from the University of Wyoming College of Law with his J.D. in 1958.[1]

Brorby was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit by President Ronald Reagan on August 7, 1987, to a seat vacated by James E. Barrett. Hearings on Brorby's nomination were held before the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary on January 27, 1988, and his nomination was reported by then-U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) on February 4, 1988. Brorby was confirmed on a voice vote of the U.S. Senate on February 16, 1988, and he received his commission the next day. Brorby assumed senior status on May 25, 2001.[1][2] He was succeeded in this position by Judge Terrence O'Brien.
