A measure to enact term limits for city council members was on the ballot for Walnut voters in Los Angeles County, California, on April 12, 2016. It was approved.

A "yes" vote was a vote in favor of enacting term limits for city council members.
A "no" vote was a vote against enacting the term limits.

Under Measure A, city council members could serve two consecutive four-year terms and a third term after a two-break from the council. No council member could serve more than three four-year terms, regardless of the length of the period between terms.[1]

A city staff report presented in August 2015 to the city council noted that, in a survey of the 31 cities in the San Gabriel Valley, 22 had term limits.[2]
