Walter W. Hafner Jr. is a judge of the Oswego County Court in New York. He assumed office in 1999.

Education

Hafner received his A.A. degree in math and science from Onondaga Community College in 1972, his B.A. degree in economics and business administration from the State University College at Oswego in 1974, and his J.D. degree from the Nova University Law Center in 1977.[1][2]

Career

Hafner worked as a private practice lawyer from 1978 through 1998. He also served as a part time law clerk to Oswego County Surrogate's Court Judge John Murray from 1978 to 1988 and then as a part-time Assistant Oswego County District Attorney until 1995. From 1990 to 1993, he was also a part-time Oswego City Attorney. In 1999, he joined the Oswego County Court. He also ran unsuccessfully for a position on the Supreme Court (5th Judicial District) in 2009.[1][2]

2009 election

Hafner ran as a Democratic candidate for election to the New York Supreme Court, 5th District. Three candidates competed for two seats.[3]
