Warren Stewart (Virginia)
Warren Stewart was a candidate for the nonpartisan Super Ward 6 seat on the Norfolk City Council in Virginia. He was defeated in the general election on May 3, 2016.
Biography
Steward earned a B.A. in psychology form Guilford College in 1968, an M.A. in reading from Old Dominion University in 1975 and an Ed.D. in curriculum from the University of Virginia in 1990. He retired in 2001 after serving as a school superintendent for King George County Public Schools in 2001 and Goochland County Public Schools from 1991 to 2000.[1]
Prior to his work as a superintendent, Steward held a variety of positions in education, including working as a supervisor in the Virginia Department of Education and as an instructor at the University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University. Stewart's full resume can be viewed here.[1]

2016
The city of Norfolk, Virginia, held elections for mayor and city council on May 3, 2016. Two of the eight city council seats were up for election.[2] Andria McClellan defeated incumbent Barclay Winn and Warren Stewart in the Norfolk City Council Super Ward 6 general election.
