Washington Initiative 602 was on the ballot as an initiated state statute in Washington on November 2, 1993. It was defeated.
A "yes" vote supported limiting state revenue collections and expenditures through a factor calculated on personal income, except in emergencies, creating a revenue reserve fund, and also imposing restrictions on the legislature to prevent the alteration of current programs without fully funding them. |
A "no" vote opposed changing the existing revenue system, which was calculated by multiplying the year's revenue limit by the average state personal income ratio, as well as provisions on expenditure limits. |
