The Washington Jury Trials for Lawsuits Without Attorneys Measure, Initiative 1390 was not on the November 3, 2015 ballot in the state of Washington as an Initiative to the People. If approved by voters, the measure would have done the following:[1]
- Required a jury trial to be held if a lawsuit brought pro se (without an attorney) is dismissed
- Required judicial officers to be reported to the state bar association and commission on judicial conduct if the jury returns a verdict in favor of the litigant
- Mandated discipline by the appropriate agency and public disclosure of the discipline

The ballot summary was as follows:[1]

If the jury returns a verdict in favor of the pro se litigant, the judicial officer involved must be reported to the Washington State Bar Association and the Commission on Judicial Conduct. Discipline by the appropriate agency would be mandatory and subject to public disclosure.[2] | ” |

This measure was sponsored by Bill Scheidler. Supporters called the measure "Mandating disputes arising out of judicial rule-making be tried by jury."[1]
Path to the ballot
Supporters were required to collect at least 246,372 valid signatures by July 2, 2015, in order to land the initiative on the ballot.
