The Washington Limitations on Government Recording Measure, Initiative 1382 was not on the November 3, 2015 ballot in the state of Washington as an Initiative to the People. If approved by voters, the measure would have done the following:[1]
- Prohibited the state and local government from recording people exercising certain rights without reasonable suspicion that criminal activity is occurring or evidence that criminal activity is likely to occur

This measure would prohibit state and local government from recording people who are exercising certain rights without reasonable suspicion that criminal activity is occurring or evidence of criminal activity is likely to occur. Should this measure be enacted into law? Yes [ ] No [ ][2] |

Ballot summary
The ballot summary was as follows:[1]
“ | This measure would prohibit anyone working for, on behalf of, or in contract with a state or local government agency from intentionally recording people who are lawfully exercising their freedom of speech, press, association, assembly, religion, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. Government agencies can record if there is reasonable suspicion to believe that criminal activity is actively occurring or that evidence of criminal activity is likely to occur.[2] | ” |

This measure was sponsored by Derek Lee. Supporters called the measure "Government Recording Exclusions."[1]
Path to the ballot
Supporters were required to collect at least 246,372 valid signatures by July 2, 2015, in order to land the initiative on the ballot.
