A Wauconda Village Fire Fund Transfer measure was supposed to be on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the village of Wauconda which is in Lake County, but it was later removed.
This measure was going to ask residents if they wanted to allow the village to transfer funds from the annual payments made to the fire district to local property tax bills of village residents.[1] A meeting was held for local residents to hear the issue from village officials. They tried to stress the point that although taxes in regard to fire services, other areas would be reduced so overall rates would only increase slightly. Since this did not get approved, the village noted that services would be cut due to lack of money in the budget.[2]
