Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
Shall the total limitation on the amount of taxes for operating purposes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Waverly Community Schools, Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties, Michigan, be increased by 18 mills ($18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) and against all principal residences, qualified agricultural property, qualified forest property, industrial personal property and commercial personal property not otherwise exempted by law by 9.30 mills ($9.30 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation), both millages to be for a period of 10 years, 2013 to 2022, inclusive; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect from combined local property taxes authorized herein if the millage is approved and levied in 2013 is approximately $8,250,000 (this is a renewal of previously authorized millage which will expire with the 2012 tax levy)?[4] |
