The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 28, 2014. Carmen Casillas was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbents Frank Pratt and T.J. Shope defeated Wayne Bachmann and Darla Dawald in the Republican primary. Pratt and Shope defeated Casillas in the general election.[2][3][4][5]
