Wayne Durden is a judge of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to this position by former Governor Charlie Crist on May 24, 2010. He took office on August 1 and replaced former Judge Robert L. Doyel. He was elected in 2012 to a full term that expires in January of 2019.[1][2][3][4][5]

Education

Durden was born on June 13, 1958 in Detroit, MI. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from the Stetson University College of Law. He was admitted to the Bar in 1982.[3][6]

Career

Durden began his career in 1982 as an assistant state attorney in the 6th Judicial Circuit. In 1985, he joined the law firm of Donald Kaltenbach P.A. He then worked as an assistant state attorney in the 10th Judicial Circuit from 1987 until he was appointed to the circuit court in 2010. From 1992 to 2010, he supervised the felony division of the State Attorney's Office.[2]

2012 election

Durden was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[7]
