Wayne Johnson (New Mexico)
Wayne Johnson (Republican Party) was the New Mexico State Auditor. Johnson assumed office on December 1, 2017. Johnson left office on January 1, 2019.
Johnson (Republican Party) ran for re-election for New Mexico State Auditor. Johnson lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Johnson previously served as a Republican District 5 representative on the Bernalillo County Commission in New Mexico from 2010 to 2017.
Johnson was a nonpartisan candidate for mayor of Albuquerque in New Mexico. Johnson was defeated in the general election on October 3, 2017.
Biography
Johnson was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and attended Sandia High School. He received a bachelor's degree in university studies, with an emphasis in computer engineering and film/television, from the University of New Mexico. His professional experience includes working as the president of Vista Media, a company that his mother started in 1975.[1]
Political career
New Mexico State Auditor (2017 - 2019)
New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez (R) appointed Johnson to serve as the New Mexico state auditor on December 1, 2017. He succeeded former officeholder Tim Keller (D), who was elected mayor of Albuquerque, New Mexico, in November 2017.[2]Johnson served as state auditor from 2017 to 2019.
