Wayne Kuipers
Wayne Kuipers was a Republican member of the Michigan State Senate from 2003 to January 1, 2011. Before becoming a Senator, Kuipers served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002.
Kuipers graduated from Calvin College with his bachelor's degree in education in 1993 and later graduated with his master's degree in management from Aquinas College in 1995. Kuipers has had post-graduate study from the Boway Institute for Legislative Leadership Development in 2000 and the Michigan Political Leadership program.
Before becoming an elected official, Kuipers was a project manager and management consultant.
In October 2009, Senator Kuipers announced he was running for Congress in 2010.[1]

Due to Michigan term limits, Senator Kuipers did not run for re-election in the Michigan State Senate elections of 2010. [4]
2006
On November 7, 2006, Kuipers ran for District 30 of the Michigan State Senate, beating Scott Vander Stoep and Marcia Ortquist.[5]
Kuipers raised $97,273 for his campaign.[6]
