Pornography accusation and resignation
Olmstead was accused of keeping pornographic content on his state computer. He was indicted by a state grand jury in May 2011, accused of 19 felony counts of downloading obscene material. Also, 57 pornographic movies were found on his computer. He appeared before the Court on the Judiciary on September 2011.[3]
Separately from that trial, the Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court asked the Court of the Judiciary to remove Olmstead from office.[3]
Olmstead resigned from his position on the court in January 2012, after pleading no contest to one felony count of violating the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act on a state-issued computer.[4]
