Campaign themes

2014

True's campaign website listed the following issues:[3]

  • Health Care Reform: "The implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA, Obamacare) has not improved health care access for all American citizens. It appears instead to be designed to fail, ushering in “single payer.” Having the government control all of health care will not improve the quality of care or access to care."
  • Immigration Reform: "Supports enforcement of current immigration law. Provide a pathway to achieve legal status / citizenship in an orderly manner, not blanket amnesty. Supports a guest worker program to help meet the needs of American business. Supports use of the E-Verify system by all employers. The borders need to be secure before any discussion of pathway to legal status / citizenship can be entertained."
  • Definition of Marriage: "Marriage is a time-honored social contract primarily for the benefit of providing a stable and nurturing environment for the raising of children. Dr. True personally believes that marriage is between a man and a woman. He allows for domestic partnership laws giving same sex partners opportunity for sharing potential tax and insurance benefits, inheritance, etc."
  • Gun Control: "Supports the rights of gun ownership, He is a life member of the NRA."
  • School Choice: "Supports the rights of parents to choose the best schools for their children."
