Three of the seven seats on the Weber School District school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. Districts 4, 5, and 7 incumbents Richard Favero, Douglas Hurst, and Jon Ritchie ran unopposed and won re-election to their seats.[1]

The Weber school board election shared the ballot with federal elections for President of the United States, United States Senate, and United States Representative. The Weber School District is located in Weber County, Utah. The county seat is Ogden. Weber County was home to 243,645 residents in 2015, according to the United States Census Bureau.[6] The district was the seventh-largest school district in the state in the 2013–2014 school year and served 31,281 students.[7]
Demographics
Weber County underperformed in comparison to Utah as a whole in terms of higher education achievement from 2010 to 2014. The United States Census Bureau found that 23.2 percent of county residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 30.6 percent of all state residents. The median household income in the county was $56,216, compared to $59,846 for the entire state. The poverty rate in Utah County was 12.3 percent, compared to 11.3 percent for the entire state.[6]
