Candidate Connection

Wendy Bingesser participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on July 25, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Wendy Bingesser's responses follow below.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

My top three priories are: (1) cancer and healthcare research, (2) sales tax reform for groceries and internet sales (3) career and technical education.[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

I am passionate about healthcare research, education, and religious freedom.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Wendy Bingesser answered the following:

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at that time?

The first historical event in my lifetime that I remember really being impacted by was the attempted assassination of President Reagan. My school principal went from room to room informing the classes. I was 10 years old and I cried.[3]
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
My first job was at Baskin-Robbins. I worked there for four years while in high school and college. I can still make the best milkshakes.[3]
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. The holiday is about family and expressing gratitude for the gifts that God has shared with us.[3]
What is your favorite book? Why?
My favorite book is The Princess Bride by William Goldman. The book's plot is interesting yet humorous. I appreciate that every line is quotable and can relate to life. Simply put, the story is beautiful, uplifting, and one where good triumphs over bad.[3]
What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?
My favorite things in my home (outside of my family and dog) are my late mother's confirmation cross and my late father's naval aviation flight jacket.[3]
