I am a NH native, grew up in Portsmouth. Longtime Kensington resident who believes NH can do better. Strong supporter of public schools, ending the voucher system which took 23M from our public schools last year and impacted your tax bill. I will protect reproductive rights , individual rights and create sensible gun laws. Will keep the State accountable from downshifting costs to property owners tax bills. Our State is on a slippery slope should the current radical right agenda continue in Concord that will only tighten reproductive rights, continue to demonize the LGBQT community, increase voucher payments ,try to legislate how teachers teach and further loosen our very weak gun laws. The Live Free or Die state will lose our Live and let live feel which to me is what makes our State so special. I will be honored to serve Hampton Falls and Kensington as your State Representative. I will be a diligent Steward of this responsibility and always be open to hearing all sides of each issue before voting. I intend to keep an on-going open line of communication with all voters via social media and other means so you will know the issues. I will listen to your feedback and vote for the good of all our residents. I would be honored to have your support on November 5.
  • Strong supporter of our Public Schools and having the State provide more public school funding which will lower our tax bills. Additionally we must honor our teachers and allow them to teach without outside interference and intimidation.
  • A Proponent for Reproductive Rights NH is the only New England State that does not have a Constitutional Amendment allowing women the right to abortion. I worry that continuing with the radical right agenda will further tighten the current NH abortion law. This will make NH less desirable for young families who we need desperately to attract and keep as the future generations of NH.
  • Sensible Gun Safety Laws The current radical right continues to loosen NH gun laws making us one of the worst states in the Union for gun safety. Last session alone was adopted that employees could have loaded firearms in their locked vehicles at work. What could go wrong ? Suicide by gun is the #1 way gun death happens in NH. Mental health issues tie into this figure. Yet a person with mental health issues or a history of domestic violence can easily purchase a gun. We need to make changes is the gun laws in NH and I will help make that happen.
Protecting individual rights. I am a gay woman who legally married my wife one day after it became legal in NH. We have been together in Kensington for 41 years and been good neighbors and productive citizens. I want every LGBQT person to feel NH is a welcoming and supportive place to live their lives. I also am appalled by the radical right demonizing our trans kids. As a student athlete (I played on the Women’s Varsity Ice Hockey team at UNH) I know the values learned playing sports that are being denied these kids: responsibility, teamwork, competitiveness and making friends that will last a lifetime. Every student deserves the right to belong.
Transparency- No shuffling around the issues/ letting voters know where you stand. Honesty and Integrity- Being truthful about how laws will impact the entire community
I am a great listener and idea person. After over 40 years in a sales and marketing career and working with 100’s of NH businesses I’ve learned to listen for needs and create solutions. I feel I can bring this same skill set to Concord. Additionally I am a calm person. It takes a lot for someone to get under my skin and I think my calm and approachable manner will be helpful in working with people across the aisle.
That I helped Granite Staters live better and safer lives. If I can save just one person’s life with stronger gun laws , that is success to me.
When President Kennedy was shot. I was in kindergarten standing in line for the bus when the older kids came out of school and told us. I came home and the TV was on with my mom watching and my brother arrived home because his lacrosse practice was cancelled. We didn’t see our Dad that night. He was a FBI Special Agent in NYC and pretty busy . We moved from Long Island to NH when I was 9.
I picked beans at Gowen’s Farm in Greenland! That didn’t last long! At 16 I worked at Fayva Shoe in Portsmouth for a couple years, then Montgomery Ward in Newington. During college I was a playground instructor for the Portsmouth Rec Department
To Kill A Mockingbird. I have read multi times. I love this book because it tackles so many issues: being a good person and a good parent, fighting discrimination and looking at people with compassion rather than demonizing them because they are different . It’s an American classic everyone should read.
I worry about NH becoming less and less attractive to young families . High property taxes, restrictive reproductive rights , lax gun laws and draining money from our public schools are factors making NH less inviting for keeping our younger population here and attracting families and workers from other areas. We compete with our neighboring states to attract the next generation and we need to make NH THE place to live and raise a family. I have a 10 year old granddaughter and want her to stay a Granite Stater for life as I did.
Yes. On primary day I had conversations with many staunch Republicans. Cordial and interesting dialogue. I feel this is missing in Concord and I look forward to working with all legislators in finding common sense solutions. We can’t be enemies. We have to work together and I am willing to have constructive conversation with all fellow legislators and treat each of them with respect.
Yes. I had a conversation with a teacher at one of our two elementary schools in District 19. She told me about a teacher who was reading aloud to her class and within the reading mentioned Black Lives Matter. A parent heard about this and made a huge fuss wanting the teacher fired. It resulted in other teachers stopping reading to their classes and being fearful of parent retribution for their jobs. This is just wrong. Black Lives Matter is a movement that has happened. It is modern American history. There are Black Lives Matter signs on lawns. Cmon! Let our teachers teach!

The people should know how revenue is raised and how it is spent. The Educational Freedom Account program is an example of where we need more transparency.
