West Hollywood Measure E was on the ballot as a referral in West Hollywood on November 3, 2020. It was approved.

A “yes” vote supported authorizing an additional sales tax of 0.75% generating an estimated $11 million per year for city services including public health emergencies, addressing homelessness, local businesses, senior and health services, public safety and street repair, thereby increasing the total sales tax rate in West Hollywood from 9.5% to 10.25%.

A “no” vote opposed authorizing an additional sales tax of 0.75% generating an estimated $11 million per year for city services including public health emergencies, addressing homelessness, local businesses, senior and health services, public safety and street repair, thereby leaving the existing total sales tax rate in West Hollywood at 9.5%.


A simple majority was required for the approval of Measure E.

Ballot title

The ballot title for Measure E was as follows:

To maintain West Hollywood services and prepare for and recover from public health emergencies, address homelessness, help retain local businesses/jobs, support senior and health-related services, keep public areas clean and safe, repair potholes/streets, maintain community safety, and provide other City services, shall a measure be adopted establishing a 3/4¢ sales tax providing approximately $11,000,000 annually until ended by voters, requiring public disclosure of spending, independent financial audits and all funds being used locally?
