An effort to recall Lynn Wood and Bruce Smith from the West Jefferson School Board in Jefferson County, Idaho reached the ballot on November 12, 2009. The recall effort failed and the school board certified the results on December 10, 2009.[1]
Recall supporter arguments
The recall effort targeted school board member Bruce Smith and school board chairman Lynn Wood. The petitions accused Smith and Wood of wasting taxpayer resources, involvement in unethical practices and violations of open meeting laws.[2]

Recall organizers submitted petitions equaling at least 50% of the total vote for each member district in the previous election.[3] The December recall election date took place on November 12, 2009.
