Weston Town and School Budget Referendum (April 2010)
A Weston Town and School Budget Referendum was held on April 15, 2010 in the town of Weston which is in Fairfield County.
Both budgets were approved by voters.
Town Budget:
School Budget:
- YES 663
- NO 441[1]
This was the first time Weston town resident voted on the two proposed budget by a paper ballot. A petition was submitted to hold the referendum on the two budgets and have a secret ballot vote instead of a voice vote in the annual town meeting which is how it was usually done. Town officials had to reschedule the meeting in order to hold the referendum at a late enough date to get paper ballots.[2]
The annual town meeting was held on April 8, both budgets were passed in their entirety meaning voters will choose to keep them or not on April 15.[3]
