Whitney Bilyeu
Whitney Bilyeu (Libertarian Party) ran for election to the Texas State Board of Education to represent District 6. Bilyeu lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
Born in Bryan, Texas, Bilyeu moved to Houston with her family as a child. She attended Houston ISD schools.[1]
Following graduation from the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, Bilyeu attended the University of Houston-Downtown.[1] She earned her B.A. in elementary education in 1999.[2]
Bilyeu then began her career as an educator. She soon earned her M.A. in teaching - curriculum & instruction in 2005 from the University of Houston - Downtown and her M.A. in educational administration from Sam Houston State University in 2009.[2]
She was employed with Houston ISD from 2000 through 2004 and has worked at Tomball ISD since 2004.[1]

Elections for 15 of the 31 seats in the Texas State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on March 4, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in these elections was December 9, 2013. Paul Bettencourt defeated James Wilson in the Republican primary. Jim Davis ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. Bettencourt defeated Davis and Whitney Bilyeu (L) in the general election.[3][4][5]
