Whitney is an advocate, policymaker, and visionary who believes everyone should have equal access and opportunity to define their American Dream. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and holds a Juris Doctor Degree. She has spent her career advocating for sustainable policy solutions on behalf domestic and sexual violence survivors and their families. This is demonstrated by Whitney serving on the Impact of Domestic Violence and the Courts committee for the State of Arizona and working directly with policy makers to create change. She is an active board member for two non-profit organizations that aim to improve the everyday lives of our community, Ebony House, Inc., and Booker T. Washington Child Development Center. Most recently, Whitney was appointed to the Human Relations Commission for the City of Phoenix where she advises the city council on human relations issues and assists in implementing the city's policy against discrimination. Previously, Whitney served as the Director of Public Policy and Communications for Protecting Arizona's Family Coalition (PAFCO) where she was a steadfast leader in strengthening communities to build a better Maricopa County and Arizona.
  • Build Safe and Sustainable Communities - Collaborate with the private and nonprofit sectors to strengthen quality of life in all District 3 zip codes and expand shelter and services for domestic violence victims. Regardless of zip code, people must be provided with the means to improve their quality of life and this starts with safe and sustainable communities.
  • Improve Public Health Preparedness and Response - Provide oversight of the Maricopa County Public Health Department to prioritize COVID-19 transparency and response. Address racial health disparities, remove barriers to accessing health care and wellness services, and focus on improving air quality.
  • Increase Affordable Housing and support our small businesses- Increase first-time homeownership and expand affordable housing. Provide assistance and resources to small businesses owners.
I am committed to ensuring that everyone in District 3 prospers regardless of their race, color, ability, legal status, who they love ,or gender expression.

As Supervisor, I will work to improve Maricopa County public health preparedness and response to prioritize COVID-19 transparency.

As Supervisor, I will collaborate with private and nonprofit sectors to strengthen and stabilize our economy and support small businesses , Increase affordable housing options, and expand eviction prevention programs for the people of Maricopa county.

I will advocate that we invest in early childhood education and job training opportunities for teens and young adults.

Additionally, we need to ensure that we invest in the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Department.
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is the governing body of Maricopa County that oversees the operation of county government and county budget. The Board of Supervisors have agency and oversight over the 63 county departments from Public Health, Environmental Air Quality, Health and Human Services, Public lands and libraries, early childhood education, roads and infrastructure, and workforce development and approve an annual budget of over 2.5 billion dollars. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors have the power to increase the quality of your life. They have a say over early childhood education, homelessness, access to quality healthcare and our air quality among some many other things that affect the quantity and quality of our lives regardless of your zip code.

A person's lived experience shapes a leader. Education is an intangible tool that strengthens a leader. The ability to inspire communities to be the change we need is what defines a leader. I have all three. I came to Arizona, almost a decade ago with $687 dollars in my bank account to be the first person in my family to graduate for law school. My sister's incarceration as a domestic violence survivor motivated me to help other families and survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault through public policy and legislative advocacy at the local, state and federal level. Professionally, I advocate for legislative changes to improve the lives of vulnerable populations, address safety concerns of survivors, and advocate for state funding to help end cycles of poverty among families. This compelled me to envision my community as one that truly believes in equality, access, and opportunity for all.
