Widefield School District 3 is located in El Paso County in central Colorado. The county seat is Colorado Springs. El Paso County was home to an estimated 663,519 residents in 2014, according to the United States Census Bureau.[3] During the 2012-2013 school year, Academy School District 20 was the 22nd-largest school district in the state and served 9,297 students.[4]

Demographics

El Paso County underperformed in comparison to the rest of Colorado in terms of higher education achievement in 2013. The United States Census Bureau found that 35.2 percent of county residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 37.0 percent for the state as a whole.
