Accountability and transparency guarantee a solid foundation for our educational system. Let's give our children the best possible learning environment!
I heard the critics' voices loud and clear when I first ran for school board in 2018. Two years later, I am no longer the "new kid on the block," after working hard to improve and support our community and schools.

I deepened my community engagement through leadership roles with the Stevens Creek Elementary PTO, Project Cornerstone and Walk-Bike Cupertino, where we were able to advocate for safe routes to schools, improve social emotional learning and create a trusting community. I joined the Measure H Bond oversight committee to gain an intimate view of how our tax dollars are spent on infrastructure.

I learned the most while serving as Treasurer on the ballot measure committee, Citizens for Great Cupertino District Schools, in our fight for equitable local funding for all 25 of our schools. I stood alongside parents, community members, incredibly devoted teachers and staff, manning phone booths and knocking on our neighbors' doors for Measure O. Our district must retain these talented professionals, in order to maintain the high level of academic achievement, for which we are world-renowned!

I will lean on our leaders in Sacramento to look closely at our broken school funding, and work hard to propose and implement solutions. I will continue to monitor our district budget holding staff accountable for their decisions. I pledge to continue fighting for our kids, our schools and our communities.

Vote Wil for Schools!

Hire and fire the superintendent, pass a soluble budget with a rainy day surplus, listen to the constiuents.
Students, parents, teachers and staff, residents, retirees.
Grit and perseverance, soft communication, creative problem solving.

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1. Accountability & Transparency

2. Operational Excellence

3. Balance & Compassion[6][7]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

With declining enrollment and a $5 Million projected budget deficit Cupertino Union School District has some work to do to maintain its standing as a top-notch education district. I'll bring decades of accounting experience to the board with the intention of applying a fine tooth comb through the financials to identify new or expandable revenue sources and reducing or eliminating unnecessary expenses.

My wife, Jessica, has taught me so much about the importance of mental health in our schools over the last five years while she worked at Gunn, Saratoga and now Fremont High School as a school based therapist. Every student deserves a solid education no matter what and we have to support them every way we can.

Balance is very important. There must be some sort of equilibrium between studies, social interactions, extracurricular activities and hands on experience like planting a seed or walking in nature. Technology has a place in education but it cannot be the central focus. Reading actual books and writing with pen and paper are lifelong valuable skills.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[7]

What is your political philosophy?

With declining enrollment and a $5 Million projected budget deficit Cupertino Union School District has some work to do to maintain its standing as a top-notch education district. I'll bring decades of accounting experience to the board with the intention of applying a fine tooth comb through the financials to identify new or expandable revenue sources and reducing or eliminating unnecessary expenses. My son William is entering Kindergarten this Fall at Stevens Creek Elementary and I want him to have the best possible education available. Balance is very important. There must be some sort of equilibrium between studies, social interactions, extracurricular activities and hands on experience like planting a seed or walking in nature. Technology has a place in education but it cannot be the central focus. Reading actual books and writing with pen and paper are lifelong valuable skills.

Is there anything you would like to add?

My wife, Jessica, has taught me so much about the importance of mental health in our schools over the last five years while she worked at Gunn, Saratoga and now Fremont High School as a school based therapist. Every student deserves a solid education no matter what and we have to support them every way we can.[7]
