Aikens ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Texas' 28th District. Aikens won the Libertarian Party nomination at the state convention in April 2014.[2] He was defeated by incumbent Henry Cuellar (D) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[3]
