Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ | What is your political philosophy?
The heart of my philosophy is the importance of being earnest. Public education in Oklahoma must be a priority, and must foster respect, trust, empowerment, efficacy, legitimacy, discipline, and development of the people in our great state. We must safeguard fiscal responsibility to ensure that we have a balanced budget, and to ensure that we are not wasting our time, energy, and resources. We must empower our teachers and communities to allow our children to be children, and to grow into future success stories. We must honor the core of our codified constitutional commitments to public education, and transcend our current standards to make Oklahoma a Top 10 state for education, potential, and opportunity. Is there anything you would like to add? As Superintendent, I know I must earn the trust of our community, and I must be a public servant. Quality public education requires social justice, and requires acknowledgement and understanding of our past, of our native roots. We must not attempt to whitewash away the past; rather, we must accept responsibility and move into the future united together with spirit, love, and happiness as a community.[2] |
