Will Petrik
Will Petrik was a nonpartisan candidate for representative on the Columbus City Council in Ohio. Petrik was defeated in the general election on November 7, 2017.
Biography
Petrik received a bachelor's degree in social justice, with a minor in political science from the College of St. Scholastica in 2009. His professional experience includes working as a grants associate for Local Matters, the outreach director at the Juvenile Justice Coalition, the state director of Advocates for Ohio's Future, and a speaker recruiter for the Center For Nonprofit Success.[1]

2017
The city of Columbus, Ohio, held elections on November 7, 2017. A primary election occurred on May 2, 2017. Three of the seven seats on the city council were up for election. The positions of city attorney and city auditor were also on the ballot. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 1, 2017.[2] The following candidates ran in the Columbus City Council general election.[3]

The city of Columbus, Ohio, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A primary took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 4, 2015.[4][5] Four of the city's seven at-large council seats were up for election. In the primary election for city council, incumbents Zachary M. Klein, Michelle Mills and Jaiza N. Page and challengers John Rush, Besmira Sharrah, Ibrahima Sow, Dimitrious Wayne Stanley and Michael Stinziano advanced to the general election past Orie Givens, Kiwan R. Lawson and Will Petrik.[6][7] Former candidates include Josh Jaffre, Zachary E. Manifold and Francine C. Ryan. They were "placeholder" candidates. In March 2015, they were removed from the list and replaced by John Rush, Michael Stinziano and Jaiza N. Page, respectively. Doyline E. Williams appeared on the original 2015 filing list, but did not appear on the 2015 certified list. Incumbent Andrew J. Ginther ran for mayor of Columbus. Zachary M. Klein, Jaiza N. Page, Elizabeth Brown and Michael Stinziano won the election.[8]
