Opposition

The Spotsylvania County School Board is a seven-member board elected by district to staggered four-year terms. The seats of Chancellor District incumbent Dawn Shelley, Courtland District incumbent James Meyer, Livingston District incumbent Ray Lora and Salem District incumbent William Blaine Jr. were up for election on November 3, 2015.[2] Board member Blaine defeated a challenge from Shawn Davis. Incumbents Shelley and Meyer ran unopposed and won re-election to their seats. Newcomer Kirk Twigg, who was an unsuccessful candidate in 2011, ran unopposed and won the Livingston District seat vacated by incumbent Ray Lora, who did not file for re-election.
