William C. Hillman was a Federal Bankruptcy Court judge for the United States bankruptcy court, District of Massachusetts. He was appointed in 1991, and then reappointed in 2005.[1] He was chief judge from 1998 to 2002.[2] Hillman retired from the court on August 14, 2015.[3]

Education

Hillman received his undergraduate degree from The University of Chicago and his J.D. from Boston University.[4]

Professional career

Hillman spent his over thirty-three year career focusing on commercial and insolvency law. He also taught at Northeastern University School of Law.[1]

Hillman was appointed to the United States bankruptcy court, District of Massachusetts in 1991. Hillman served as the chief judge from 1998 to 2002. He was reappointed in 2005 and served on the court until August 14, 2015.[5][3]
