William Canfield
William Canfield (Republican Party) is a member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Rutland-10 District. He assumed office on January 4, 2023. His current term ends on January 6, 2027.
Canfield (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Vermont House of Representatives to represent Rutland-10 District. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
William Canfield was born in Rutland, Vermont. Canfield graduated from Fair Haven High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy. Canfield's career experience includes working as a self-employed barber and stylist. Canfield was elected to be a justice of the peace and served as town moderator in Fair Haven. He also joined the American Legion Post 49, the Knights of Columbus Council 810, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles AERIE 3907, the Castleton Lions Club, and Lodge #75 Free and Accepted Masons of Fair Haven.[1]

Elections for the Vermont House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 12, 2014. Rutland-3 has two state representatives. Incumbents Robert Helm and William Canfield defeated Dean Powers in the Republican primary.[6] Helm and Canfield were unopposed in the general election.[7]

Canfield won re-election in the 2012 election for Vermont House of Representatives Rutland 3. Canfield was unopposed in the August 28 Republican primary and was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[8]

Canfield ran for re-election to the Rutland 2 District in 2010. He and Robert Helm (R) both won re-election in the general election on November 2, 2010.[8]
