William Canfield (Republican Party) is a member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Rutland-10 District. He assumed office on January 4, 2023. His current term ends on January 6, 2027.

Canfield (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Vermont House of Representatives to represent Rutland-10 District. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Biography

William Canfield was born in Rutland, Vermont. Canfield graduated from Fair Haven High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy. Canfield's career experience includes working as a self-employed barber and stylist. Canfield was elected to be a justice of the peace and served as town moderator in Fair Haven. He also joined the American Legion Post 49, the Knights of Columbus Council 810, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles AERIE 3907, the Castleton Lions Club, and Lodge #75 Free and Accepted Masons of Fair Haven.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 12, 2014. Rutland-3 has two state representatives. Incumbents Robert Helm and William Canfield defeated Dean Powers in the Republican primary.[6] Helm and Canfield were unopposed in the general election.[7]
