William D. Shockley is the chief judge on the Orphans Court of Worcester County in Worcester County, Maryland.[1] He has served on the court and as its chief judge for the court since 1986. Shockley ran for re-election to the Orphans Court of Worcester County in 2014, winning a term that expired on December 31, 2018.[2][3]

General: He faced J. Franklin Knight, and incumbent judges, Linda M. Hess and John Dale Smack, III in the general election on November 4, 2014, and won with 22.4 percent of the vote. Candidates competed for three open seats.

Shockley was re-elected to the Orphans Court of Worcester County (along with Linda M. Hess and Dale Smack) in the general election on November 2, 2010, with 33.40% of the vote.[5]
