William C. Donnino is a judge of the New York Court of Claims who serves as the Supervising Judge for the Nassau County Court and an Acting Justice of the Nassau County Supreme Court (10th Judicial District) in New York. He was appointed a judge of the Court of Claims and an Acting Supreme Court Justice in 1989 and was reappointed in 1992, 2001 and 2010. He has served as a Supervising County Court Judge since 2001.[1][2][3]

Education

Donnino received his B.A. from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1963 and his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law in 1966.[1]

Career

Donnino began his career in 1966 as an Assistant District Attorney of New York County. He then worked as Assistant Counsel to the Governor from 1971 to 1973. From 1973 to 1975, he worked for the state Department of Correctional Services as Deputy Commissioner & Counsel. He then joined the Nassau County District Attorney's office, where he served as Chief of the Appeals Bureau through 1981. From 1982 to 1989, he was a Chief Assistant Kings County District Attorney. He also served as Counsel to the state Senate Committee on Crime and Correction from 1986 to 1988 and as a private practice attorney and Counsel for the firm of Kase & Druker from 1986 to 1989.

Donnino's judicial career began in 1989 when he was appointed a Court of Claims Judge and an Acting Supreme Court Justice. He was also appointed to serve as Supervising Judge of the Nassau County Criminal Courts in 2001.[1]
