William E. Macklin
William E. Macklin was a Minnesota First Judicial District judge for Scott County, Minnesota. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Arne Carlson on May 5, 1998 and was elected to a full term in 2000. Macklin was re-elected in 2006 and retired on June 4, 2012, at which point he was appointed to serve statewide as Senior Judge from June 11, 2012 to June 30, 2013.[1]
Education
Macklin received his B.A. degree in theater arts from the University of Minnesota in 1968 and his J.D. degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1975.[1]
Career
Judge Macklin began his legal career in 1975 as a law clerk to Judge Yetka of the Minnesota Supreme Court. The following year, he joined the firm of Nord & Macklin, P.A. as a partner. He practiced with this firm until he joined the District Court. From 1989 to 1998, he was also a Minnesota Representative for District 37B.[1]
