William E. Thompson is an at-large member on the Hall County Board of Education in Georgia. He defeated challenger Paul Wayne Godfrey in the Republican primary election on May 20, 2014. Thompson won the general election unopposed on November 4, 2014.

Thompson worked as a teacher and principal at district schools for 32 years prior to his retirement. He and his wife, Linda, have five children.[1]
