William F. "Lin" Williams is a judge of the Suwannee County Court in Florida. He was elected to this position on November 2, 2010. He was re-elected to a new six-year term in 2016.[1][2]

Education

Williams received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1977 and J.D. from Stetson College of Law in 1980.[2]

Thirty-nine of Florida's 67 county courts had seats up for election in 2016. Of the 101 seats up for election, 68 saw only one candidate file for the election. The unopposed races were canceled and the sole candidates were automatically elected. Of the 33 opposed races, only 15 saw more than two candidates file. [3]

Williams won 29% of the vote in the primary. He then defeated Gary E. Brown with 54.6% of the vote in the general election.[1]
