William G. Stewart was a district court judge for the 7A Judicial District and the 7BC Judicial District, serving Nash, Wilson, and Edgecombe counties of North Carolina. He was elected to this position in 2000. He was re-elected in 2012 for a term that expired in 2016.[1][2]

Education

Stewart received his B.A. in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1972 and his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 1978.[1]

Career

Stewart began his career as a lawyer with the firm of Parker, Miles, and Hinson. He then worked as a clerk for the Superior Court of Wilson County (First Division). After leaving that position, he practiced with Narrron, Holdford, Babb, Harrison, and Rhodes for three years and then ran his own law firm until 1990, when became an Assistant District Attorney. He was then elected to the district court in 2000.[1]

2012 election

Farris was re-elected without opposition on November 6, 2012.[3][4]
