William Gamboney (Democratic Party) is a judge for the 7th Subcircuit of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. His current term ends on December 2, 2030.

Gamboney ran for re-election for the 7th Subcircuit judge of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. He won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.

He was first elected to this position on November 6, 2012, to fill the vacancy left by Lawrence Terrell.

Biography

William Gamboney received his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois and his J.D. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. He was admitted to the Bar in 1977.[1] Gamboney began his career as a private practice attorney. He then worked as an Assistant Cook County State's Attorney from 1979 to 1994. From 1994 until his judicial election in 2012, he worked as a sole practitioner.[2]
