When I saw NO candidate is on the Democratic primary ballot, I felt called to do something, so I researched the issue.
I am the ONLY official democratic party write-in candidate registered with BOTH of the 2 election authorities in House District 20. This means that ONLY a write-in vote for "William Hallihan" will be counted whether it is cast in Chicago or suburban Cook County.
Another write-in candidate filed in 1 of the 2 election authorities but the failure to file with both reduces the chance of getting a Democratic candidate on the ballot because a vote for the other guy will NOT be counted if cast in Chicago. This is a BIG PROBLEM because the DIFFICULT part of a write-in candidacy is a rule that requires you obtain AT LEAST the number of votes as the number of signatures required on a petition to get on the ballot in the normal manner.
I grew up in a LARGE, blue-collar family. At 14, I started working 3 school-nights a week + Saturday mornings at 1 job. Added a Saturday night shift at a 2nd job yet still managed to graduate in the top 10% of my high school class. Worked my way through college painting, patching & demolition. Went back for a law degree. Worked in the private sector & business owner.
My wife & I have 3 grade-school children. My relatives are a melting pot, including Black, Hispanic, Asian & White individuals.- I am anti-corruption because it costs ALL of us more money to benefit a select few. Reducing corruption would help make things more affordable for all.
- We need real tax reform that benefits regular folks, instead of just the 1%. The Republican failed policies of the past repeatedly gave huge cuts to the uber-wealthy that NEVER trickled-down. Instead, the Republican Reverse Robin Hood tax cuts did the opposite. With high tax rates for the uber-wealthy, a $1 raise for an employee amounted to pennies out of their own pockets (due to taxes) but a lot closer to $1 now.
In our consumer-driven economy over the past several decades, it appears that the mass of consumers that ARE the real job creators.
I've yet to witness any corporation hire someone or give them a raise, due to receiving a tax cut. - I am pro-union because skilled workers should get paid for their skills and all workers need a livable wage.
I did not submit a photo because I did not like something about the terms under which you submit one to Ballotpedia, but you can find one on my website or FB page which should be here.
