William Leonard Hungate (1922-2007) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Hungate was nominated by President Jimmy Carter on May 17, 1979, to a new seat created by 92 Stat.1629; he was confirmed by the Senate on September 25, 1979, and received commission the next day. He assumed senior status on October 1, 1991, and retired on June 30, 1992. Hungate was succeeded in this position by Carol Jackson.
